Three staff members of the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education (KPE) were recently recognized with a 2023-24 Excellence Through Innovation Award (ETIA). The awards, established in 2005, recognize exemplary administrative staff and librarians and provide a platform for sharing outstanding practices across the tri-campus University of Toronto community.
Wendy Pais, registrar and director of student services, Timothy Linden, assistant registrar, and Darryl McSherry, student advisor at KPE, were all part of the university-wide Student Advising Service Team nominated for the award for their work on the Salesforce Student Success Hub system.
“It is an honour to be a part of this tri-campus awarded team, working alongside others who are equally as passionate about enhancing the student experience across the institution,” says Pais. “I am proud of the KPE advising and registration staff who participated in all phases of the project, from requirement assessment and product development to testing, training and implementation.
“In addition to improving services at the divisional level, the Salesforce Student Success Hub presents an exciting opportunity to provide seamless supports to KPE students and all students more broadly, including improving communications between Registrar’s Offices and students, sharing of information between advisors, providing networks of support for students and ultimately enriching the student experience.
“The new system will also allow KPE’s Registrar’s Office to expand and deepen academic advising supports for current students.”
Led by Julian Weinrib, director of innovations in undergraduate education in the Office of the Vice-President & Provost, the university-wide team will be provided with 1,500 True Blue points and will attend an awards presentation ceremony and reception.
